Catholic Attorney Prosecutes Satan in S.B. Jacob's New Book

Brooklyn, NY (January 26, 2009)… S.B. Jacob, a rising literary star from Brooklyn, New York, announced the release of her latest novel, Because the Devil Loved Eve. This compelling and provocative piece of fiction, set in Brooklyn, NY and the ancient city of Hebron, attributes the sufferings of mankind on the Devil’s infatuation with Eve. Combining elements of crime story and fantasy, Because the Devil Loved Eve spins a wild and engrossing tale of religion, brutality, intrigue and justice.

A former manager with the New York City Department of Juvenile Justice and a former King's County Assistant District Attorney, author Jacob explored themes of law and criminality in earlier short stories. The new book continues in this vein but creates more space for imaginative maneuvering by introducing elements of the supernatural.

Because the Devil Loved Eve is set in a dual world: half gritty, crime-ridden reality, half occult theological fantasy land of angels and demons. Here the frustration of one man with a disheartening legal system intersects with the universal struggle between good and evil. From the courtrooms of Brooklyn to the mystical, ancient cities of Hebron and Khorramabad, the story unfolds in a series of surprising revelations.

The release of Because the Devil Loved Eve is the latest episode in the colorful life of S.B. Jacob. Among her other adventures, she founded the highly successful volunteer program NY TEMPO (New York Teens Empowering More People Onward); co-hosted a local cable television show; was a member of a volunteer team that built a library in Nigeria; and is an active member of her Catholic church.
