The Novel
A war waged against Heaven and mankind because of a desire unfulfilled. An ancient battle between the warriors of Heaven and fallen archangels. And the world onto which the war in Heaven has bled.
Confounded by a Satanic presence, assistant district attorney Reggie Barrington’s world begins to collapse. When a frightening nocturnal visit by an archangel curses Reggie with the ability to see the grotesque demons that haunt mankind, he questions his sanity. Soon arrested for murder, Reggie knows he’ll be unable to convince anyone of his suspicion that demonic forces are responsible for the homicide of which he is accused.
Escaping from custody, the desperate prosecutor travels to Israel on a dangerous search for an ancient revelation, one that would herald the end of Lucifer’s reign, and to face the demons that plague him.
The Legend
While still a highly favored archangel, L’san saw Eve and desired her, though she was betrothed to a man. He struggled with that desire before defying the boundaries of heaven and earth to possess her.
He seduced Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, so that the light of knowledge would awaken her passions and bring her to him. For this he was banished from the Kingdom of Heaven and became Lucifer, “the light bearer.”
Two equally powerful archangels fell with him. Together they became the unholy trinity known as Satan, and with legions of demons under their command, they move among an unwitting and naïve world.
The answer to every “why?” mankind ever had about the root of evil.
Allegory at heart, the novel challenges accepted ideas of evil and forgiveness, desire and weakness. With unexpected turns, alternate views of biblical teachings, and seductive encounters between elegant devils and a vulnerable populace, it is a fun, edgy read about a world just beneath our perception.

The Author
S. B. Jacob is a practicing attorney, author, community leader and youth empowerment coach. She was twice a finalist in the New York Law Journal’s Annual Fiction Contest, and her short stories “Prayer for Relief” and “The Bodega” were published on the Journal’s website.
As part of an international volunteer team, she spent four years helping build a lending library for the Uzommiri Study Center in Enugu, Nigeria.
Jacob brings a legal mind, spiritual eyes and a Catholic upbringing to her fiction, revealing a mystical world of saints and goblins, angels and imps that exists just over our shoulder.
